Where are coffee plants cultivated... and what countries produce our coffee?

Coffea Arabica is most commonly found in Brazil, Colombia, Arabia, Indonesia, the Indies, Malaysia, Réunion, Mexico, and in Costa Rica, where the Robusta culture is forbidden by law. East Africa also produces excellent arabicas.

Brazil is by far the largest producer of arabicas; it produces some 20 million bags weighing 60 kilograms each. Colombia is second with 13 million bags weighing 70 kilograms each.

Coffea Canephora is cultivated in Africa (Madagascar, Uganda, Gabon, Angola, etc.) and in Asia (Indonesia). Indonesia is first in robusta production with 7 million bags. Uganda produces 3.5 million bags of robusta annually, and the Ivory Coast produces 3 million bags annually.

Arabica accounts for 75% of worldwide coffee production whereas robusta accounts for the remaining 25%.
