Rich: Used to describe an excess of a quality. A rich coffee will offer flavor, body and acidity in abundance.

Roaster: A roaster is a small store where coffee is roasted and sold in bulk, by the bean, or to the specific taste of the client. Roasters offer a large assortment of coffees as well as sound advice.

Roasting: Roasting coffee beans simply means that you are cooking (griller) them. The process lasts about 20 minutes and is done at temperatures ranging between 180 and 250° C. Roasting releases the coffee's aroma.

Robusta: Fruit of the Coffea Canephora, one of the two major species of coffee tree. It is a hearty plant that, unlike Coffea Arabica, grows in low altitudes and is usually of lower quality presenting flavors that are harsher and less vibrant.

Roast: Indicates the temperature and the length of time at which coffee is “cooked”. The longer the roasting time, the darker the beans and the more charcoal tang to the taste – light, medium and dark roast.
